Our Forest of Weeds

With all the recent rain, the weeds in our backyard were outrageous. I will admit, I was glad to see some green back there (since without the weeds it's just dirt), but the weeds were taking over. Johnny (with the help of Mason) finally mowed the yard.

Last week, Johnny went on the stake trek. It was a 3-day, sleep out under the stars, push handcarts 20+ miles type of th ing. He had a great time, but needless to say was very glad to be home and sleep in his own bed. My good friend Whitney was on the trek too and took these pictures. Johnny makes a great cowboy!

Most kids need "kisses" to make a boo-boo all better, but not Mason Henry. Being ever so cool Aunt Bert, I've found a new remedy. He likes to take a picture of his ouchies, and well it works! Not to mention it makes for some great pictures too!
